Default Back to the future - finally done

So I'm finally calling this one 'done'. I've been wrestling with it for almost a year, and now that it works, its way outdated and completely obsolete. Yay.

What happened? string of bad hardware. I am on my 3rd Phenom, and it still doesnt overclock, but its stable at 2.6 so whatever. Thats the price of not liking intel. Started with an asus board - total crap. Went to a DFI and a 1000W Sivlerstone PS, much better, but then one by one my video cards starting kicking the bucket. Finally after almost 3 months at RMA with visiontek, I have 3 working video cards, and a motherboard that could take them. I had been gathering all the watercooling stuff as I waited for a working hardware set.

Current status? Perfect. CPU doesn't break 40C on 4 cores, and video cards cant break about 48C. For some reason one of the cards from visiontek has working powerplay, and downclocks to 297 at idle. This makes it run cooler than the other 2 by about 1-2 degrees. Other than that, temps are equal across all 3 video cards at any load.

Future? I'll be building a 45nm phenom setup when the next gen motherboards come out, hopefully one has support for 3 x pci .

How do you find the tri X-Fire setup when compared to similar dual card systems?

What case is that? Also I took your advice and ran a set of 3850's in Parallel as well, and it works fabulously. Great work!

This is one of the best looking setups I've seen.

I was looking back through your worklog a few days ago after seeing Vortex running the cards in parallel-got 2 4870's to watercool and thats how i'll be doing it too.

And yes, that is a ziptie holding my drives in place ;) You know, I make brackets for a living but can't be bothered on my own stuff. But I'm ok with it, at least all the parts for the computer are inside the box, or bolted to the box. Thats all that matters.

Its an NZXT Hush. I added a fan down at the bottom behind the stock grille. It does not fit, but its living there anyways. The front cover is not on all the way, but you can't really tell thanks to the magic of black tape ;) With that and the kama-bay, I love how the front looks, and it gives me lots of airflow for the front rad.

thanks for the comments about the parallel system. Nice to see instead of "hey man thats not gonna work"

You actually managed to RMA one of those cards? I thought you were planning on volt-modding them?

That's some nice photography, I must say. Kind of wish I could get that exact color scheme in real life.

How do you like that NZXT case? I've seen a couple housing pre-built systems, but none (so far) none by people who build their own systems.
