lol yeah I know it's the day after, but people can sleep in the car...
unfortunately I cannot attend VanLAN as my work won't allow it so I will be awake enough to drive!

Lol yes we definitely need internets on the road

Let me know if you are still interested and we can talk more about it...

ha nah I'm sure we can last 12 hours without net.
So yeah it will be a really fun trip. Especially if enough people come that we can rent a van.
They're not that expensive. Much less than I would have thought...
So who's still game?

hmm ok so I've calculated everything out and if we get about 10 people, it would cost each person about $150 plus food and accommodations.

For accommodations, I would recommend we stay in a hostel. It's only $30/night and there's one in Edmonton about 15 mins away from the venue...
There's also one in Jasper where we could stay there overnight if we don't wanna do the full 12 hours in 1 day.
Hostels are kinda like community hotels. You share the kitchen, bathroom and pretty much everything else...
It's a lot better than it may sound and it beats $200/night for a hotel. This way we can cook our own food and save costs.

I know VanLAN is the day before we would need to leave but I really want to make this happen and I think it would be great fun... Plus I need a break from work

So? What do you guys think?

I would live to come. but im admining at DSL and VanLAN from the 1st to the 7th non stop so even if i left van lan a day early it would make its 10 days of lan. I would Die. That y I like the idea so much. The main issue is work means money no work equals no money. And i have a 48 hour lan im doing at the end of the month THEN PAX.

If i randomly get $1000 dollars between now and then i will do it.
