heh, I feel sorry for you guys...
being from the west coast, I have no problem finding a good LAN to go to. Sorry, not to make you guys feel any worse.

But you know there are more LAN parties happening around your areas than you may think.

Check out http://www.lanpartyeh.com for listings of all or many of the LAN parties going on in Canada. Some of you LAN vets might recognize the name from a few years ago. Well the name's been resurrected! This site a GREAT source for LAN party attendees and hosts. Check it out.

There are a couple in Ontario and even one in Nova Scotia!!

Edit: Hey odis172... I think that one in NS is even in your home town of Halifax!!

west coast? you mean east coast. Yea I checked it out, but the only Ontario one seems to be the Niagara one. Unfortunately it seems to be all CS:S tournaments, which do not interest me. Dam LanNET, those guys need to get off their asses and plan a big party again. Those guys had an AWESOME lan party couple years ago.

All they seem to do nowadays is small (10 people max) friends/invite only lan parties. All us GTA'ers need to bug them into planing another public one.

hrm... Sorry my bad, I meant east coast
An by the way there are 2 in Ontario listed on LANpartyeh.
TBAG LAN <-- Thunder Bay!
Not familiar with specific geographic locations in Ontario so not sure if this is close to where you are...

Maybe it's just easier if you just move out here to the Wet... I mean West Coast

ha yeah that's what I kind of figured...
Well I think that's great that so many new LAN parties are starting up across the country.
Well... at least on either side.
Come on prairies!

I know what you mean! The only prairie event that i can think of is Baselan in Winnipeg. I think there was a smaller LAN in Brandon too.

The sad thing about Thunder Bay is the gamer population seems to be pretty small... Although the sales on high-end components seems to be pretty high. Just have to find them.

I have come to heal your pain. Zero PING Events is putting on LANapalooza 2009 this coming May 8th to 10th for 50+ hours of BYOC gaming. Up to 300 PC gamers, network built with carrier-grade Foundry switches and various tournaments with guaranteed cash prizes including CS 1.6, CS Source and Left 4 Dead. Prize guarantees kick in after we get 12 competing teams for a particular tournament.

The event is located in Aurora, Ontario, about 25 minutes drive north of Toronto. We hold it in one of the local hockey arenas while the ice is out providing ample space. There will also be some tournaments for console gamers who are into Xbox, Wii, etc.

We're open to suggestions for other game titles, the more interest in a particular game the better the chance of us organizing a tournament for the game. Check out Zero PING Events Inc. for details.
