Not sure the price your looking spending but i actually saw a $399 laptop at futureshop with dual core and like. it had Intel graphics but it would be good enough to do basic computing

Yeah, I find it is actually cheaper to buy a new laptop these days. The prices have fallen so much and laptop owners are reluctant on selling their used laptops for so low.

Not sure what your budget is but for your needs you can find a new laptop for ~$500 to meet em. Now is the best time to buy as it is back to school season, lots of good deals. Dell will start at about $500. FS/BB may be able to hook you up with a Toshiba or Compaq/HP for less. The Aspire One is an Ultra Portable machine like the Asus Eee. Dell is also releasing an Ultra Portable this week I believe, the Inspiron Mini. They will let you do basic surfing, email, etc... but have specialized CPUs and small screens. They also may or may not offer a feature that is important to you, they start at about $400. Check out notebookreview.com for great expert and user reviews on the models that catch your eye.
