FS: Appraise my Guitar??

Uh, I dont play guitar..... I traded a system way back for a guitar, cause technically it has better re-sale value in the long run....

Anyone here know about these things? I am a bass player, so no use keeping it.... already have my bass and love it.

Its an Epiphone, so technically a knock off Gibson, but still a solid quality guitar. Its a Special Edition Sunburst Blue, in great shape. I see no scratches or dents, paint is in new condition. All my friends that play guitar say its great, I would know, I cant strum, I pluck....

Whats is worth guys? Anyone want to make me an offer?

They run from 550 ish to about 900 NEW, give or take depending on colour etc etc, I'd say 400ish used is a safe bet? Go to Sweetwater.com and search their guitars for epiphone les pauls and you can quickly scan the value of them all. None in that colour but there are reds up and they typically cost more (red being a more expensive colour for everything) That's my guess, I don't play guitar either however, so that's all the help I can offer.

Hey, a fellow bass player!

A little tempting, actually, but I've already got an electric on the side. Speaking through personal experience, you might find that learning a few basics on a regular guitar can offer a new perspective on your bass playing. But that's just me.

Can't your guitar-playing friends give you a decent idea what it should be worth? I would figure a lot more than $400... looks like a nice guitar.

I find those Guitars fairly often. If you get $500 for it it's a good deal. I Have found them cheaper though.

I have a Epiphone Les Paul Standard with 2 humbuckers like your guitar. Mine being the Standard edition cost me 550 new. Not sure about yours. The most expensive Epiphone Les Pauls I saw at the store were 650~. Hope that helps.

I think the "Special" models are actually the cheaper ones. I found this:

it's a "special II". But then, it looks nothing like yours, so I don't know.

For that model, I wouldnt ask for anything less then a $500 if in good condition.

The special II is a pos... its a les-paul clone that is heavier then a goddamned brick, its like they used cement to cast the body and the necks snap like nothing.


Edit- Didnt read it right, because its not a classic LP.... you however could get 6 for it from someone I'm sure... The Les Paul hold enough name that you could get a hundred more for it

Yea mines not a Special II. Its a Standard Plus, Special Edition. I'm glad to know I could get a decent buck, now to hound friends!
