Silicon lottery is a company that pre bins processors for high overclock and re sells them. You pay higher prices for the higher pre tested overclock. Also, Intel tuning plan means you can oc the chip to death and they will give you a new chip via rma.

Thanks Turtle!

Silicon Lottery is a US company based in Texas that buys CPUs by the trays and tests each one with a set criteria for how well they overclock. Each test "bin" is grouped by MHz and voltage required for a 1hr RealBench run.

Intel Tuning Plan - is a warranty on top of the standard Intel 3 year plan that lets you overclock to the point of failure and still be covered. You can basically burn out a chip with 1.6V on air and they will give you a replacement.
