Default Canon Rebel XT DSLR Full Package Deal ---- Sold!!!!!!

I've had this up on Kijiji for a week or so, but either I'm way overpriced (already much lower than any other Canon XT currently listed), the folks who'd normally be interested don't have money after the holidays, or the kit's just not attractive because it's older tech. While I admit it's older kit (8 - 10 yrs old for the body, less than 5 for the 18 - 55mm IS lens), I'd argue it's still got all of the bells and whistles for delving into the world of Manual settings.

- Canon Rebel XT
- EF-S 18-55 IS II Kit lens (Purchased used from Henrys in the fall)
- EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Kit lens (BNIB tested to verify functionality)
- BG-E3 Battery Grip (Vertical Shutter Release & controls for a much more comfortable freehand grip in Portrait orientation, as well as double the battery life)
- 3X NB-2LH Battery Packs
- 2X Battery Chargers
- 1X 16GB, 1X 2GB, & 1X 1GB CF cards
- Canon 100SX Camera Bag w/ both shoulder and belt straps (Brand new) Edit: I also have a slightly larger Canon bag that a purchaser can have a look at to see if they'd prefer it instead.
- Camera Strap, USB data cable, extra eyepiece, set of Cheapo XIT lens filters, and because my new camera does not have an IR remote function I'm even throwing in an insignia IR shutter remote.

Absolutely everything a budding Photographer needs to get their feet wet.

Looking for $250 for the complete package, but I'd be willing to split the 75-300 lens off and sell the full package with just the kit 18-55 lens for $175. Please keep in mind that the TP lens is Brand new, and that the 18 - 55 is a newer IS model than what originally shipped with the XT.

As always, PM me if you're interested and we'll work from there.

that looks like a nice kit, I remember my father bought a nice Nikon 35mm camera with bunch of lenses in the late 80's for a fortune. GL with the sale sir.

I think cellphones today have cameras with more megapixels than pro cameras of that caliber.

Yes, this is only 8 megapixels, but there's more to photography than just MP especially once you get into being able to swap lenses.

That said... if a person is perfectly happy with what they get out of their cell phone camera, they're probably not the target market for a DSLR.

I'm still working through my DSLR for Dummies book, but finally glommed onto the fact that shooting in raw allows a person to apply just about any adjustable setting (other than ISO) to the image after the fact in order to see what effects the different options provide.

+1

I always laugh when people compare their iPhone camera or their Samsung camera to a DSLR

Throw a 50mm 1.4 (perhaps even a 1.8) on that body and you'll have a camera that beats every phone out there

The irony of images taken for a camera related BST is that they're by their very nature never taken with that particular camera.... ;)

Bump.....

BTW... I'm a bit flexible on this if the request is coming from an active HWC member. (Within reason of course... ;) ).
