Default Before I buy New I am looking for a reliable Intel quad/motherboard to run WHS2011

Strictly for a server at my home with valuable data and streaming my video/music collection.

Going to Raid 5

quad processor/motherboard and ram.

I'm in Bolton, Ontario.

Media case I suppose..open to suggestions.

Thanks.

Just an FYI, I'm using a regular desktop Asus board with a Q6600 and it does fine. It runs Plex as well and doesn't have any issues. 8GB ram.

Same thing here. My setup: 24GB RAID, a regular desktop ASUS board and (gasp) just an old Core 2 Duo with 8 GB RAM. WHS2011 has been running great for 8 mths now. Before that I had the old WHS in a similar setup but no RAID.

Why bother with the media case? The number of bays (hard drives you can install) in those cases is very limited. I recommend a full tower case: mine holds all seven drives (the boot drive and the six RAID drives) with enough bays for two more drives. Unsightly, but you can hide it in a corner somewhere, or in the basement if you have one.
