My System Specs

Default [SOLD] XFX HD 7970

Status: SOLD

Selling my XFX HD 7970 graphics card. The model number is FX-797A-TDFC.
I have only had this card for a month (cannot RMA because it's past 30 days), and it has only been plugged into my cousin's computer for less than a day (just to test and see that it works).

The reason I'm selling this card is that I had plans to watercool it (hence the initial testing on cousin's computer), but I have not been able to do so in the past month because the water block was out of stock. Just got the water block after they restocked, only to find out the water block and the card are not compatible with each other even though EK's CoolingConfigurator said they were. So now I am selling this card so that I can buy another 7970 which actually works with the water block that I have.

Pictures:

It is a beautiful card, and would be more than happy to use it if my rig was not water cooled already .

Selling this card for SOLD firm, including shipping (if necessary).

For locals: my location is Richmond Hill, I can arrange for pick-ups at the following locations:
  • Hillcrest Mall
  • Fairview Mall
  • Vaughan Mills
  • Pacific or Markville Mall
  • First Markham Place
  • anywhere close to the above locations.

Please PM if interested, thanks!

Default bar code

Is that how NCIX operates? If you remove the bar code for a mail in rebate they advertise they will not RMA a legitimately purchased item? Glad for the heads up, I will from now on ask for a note to go with my purchases to resolve that issue. Seems kinda lame since they sold it to you, and the bar code is still on back of the card. Is this stated somewhere on their site??

No, that can't be right. I've never needed to send a barcode in for an RMA. Usually just proof of purchase like a receipt is enough... Just to clarify to any potential buyer, RMA'ing to the manufacturer should still be possible. That's never for a refund, however, usually just for a replacement.

This is different, as it would not be a RMA. This would be a return of merchandise (with the usual 5-15% restocking fee), and with the barcode missing NCIX cannot resell the item as an open box. They don't care when it's a RMA, as both the box and card are sent back to the manufacturer.

I don't think you need a barcode to RMA? That's extremely strange, are you absolutely sure about that? afaik, receipt and the actual physical box and item are all you would need, the company should have the card's information on hand.

EDIT: ninja'd.

Thanks guys!

Just so you guys can know what my understanding was, here's the statement on the NCIX policy about the box condition...I just assumed that cutting up the box would be considered to be "marked or taped". Anyways, thanks for your help!

"All original product boxes must NOT be marked or taped. When shipping a RMA to us, make sure to use additional packaging or wrapping over a products original box.

Do you still have the codes for the games that come with the card or were they used?

Maybe someone can correct me on this, but I think RMA is only for product defects. Since your card works perfectly fine, you can't really RMA it.

No of course you can't RMA a working card. I thought the original statement was that the card was being sold under the pretense that it would not be able to be RMA'd in the future, when in fact it can.
