@Babrbarossa, Thanks!
you asking what was a good price to sell it at, i answered it. Plus the price that i said was higher than what your offering anyways.

Outbid? This isnt ebay, there is no bidding. Buyer posts a price, someone commits to buy, done deal.

It's also selling locally in New Jersey. He was possibly outbid by someone on another forum. $150 for a 8800GTX is a pretty competitive price. I'm sure people are willing to bid higher if there are multiple offers. Plus, nothing in the rules say that you can't try to make a better offer than another buyer. If you want a bidding war via PM, so be it. Nothing is final until the money changes hands.

Fair enough, no big deal, Im just saying I would be pissed if I got "outbid". Its clear in the rules:

3) No auction style posts.
4) Honour your prices.

Yeah making people bid by PM isnt cool and against the rules. Instead it should be first one to PM and arrange payment of POSTED PRICE. Its almost like the guy was baiting with a low price to draw bidders in.

I think #4 needs to be a bit flexible. retail prices can change at any time and you should be able adjust your price accordingly. The shortage of E8400s for example drove prices up pretty quickly for a while.

I do think 8800GTXs at $150 is just trouble though. No doubt those are way underpriced and likely draw much interest. If that was his intent and draw a PM bid war then yes, it is bad manner. This isn't much of a problem though with items priced closer to retail.
