Would this card work as a physx card in strictly DX titles? I mean if I ran a game with an GTX670 or two in SLi would this work in a second or third PCIe slot to do the physics only?

Yes, this card would work as a Physx card in all titles, but it would probably be a bit of a waste, as Physx would only use one of the two cores at any given time, leaving the other core idle. But yes, it would work as a Physx card.
