Default Silent Nvidia card for HTPC: GT 540 or GT 430

Looking for a card in the title... maybe you wanted to get rid of it. Probably won't have much luck with this. I was hoping someone wants to sell their card cheap, maybe $20-ish. ;-)

Oh well, I hope it's not a waste of a thread. :)

these cards are too new to sell for 20$. You can hope for an 8400GS for that price or a GT210. Which speaking of GT210, I think 3.0charlie has one, the Asus model, completely silent, might want to shoot him a question.

Some GT210 cards new are $20, I think.

I'll give him a shout, though, if the sales end.

Btw, this is unrelated, but I was curious about GTX 460 cards. Is that way overkill to use as dual-purpose htpc and occasional gaming? They are usually not too bad at idle, though?

I read that some people advised someone upgrading to buy one used here but I don't see any ads for them.

However, I inquired elsewhere and know someone selling two cards (two different people, two different cards). Should I make a separate post? They might be sold or I might go for a cheap card so I don't know if I should post again about it. :)

They sound like good cards, though.
