[WTB] a good router flashed to good firmware

ok my router died today and i pick up a asus rt-16 to nothing but problems with it non stop i need a good router that works hoping for ddwrt firmware i don't care about price at this point my network is down and i have a household of kids and family freaking out i don't have time to trouble shoot this new router cause it works then drops out and p2p downloading isn't working at all and the kids are going to kill me

so i am looking into installing the Tomato firmware of course its pretty easy i really would love to trade this great router for one that is the same that works what i need it to do so the outer and some coin is going your way if ya want it

after many attempts to install any better firmware on it i still looking for a good router with good firmware pls i need bad i am back to no router at all cause all it does is drop all pc ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhgggggg


oh and the kids are freaking out that makes life so easy

um ya i own it and it sucks it drops its dropping all the pc at random and its wireless is even worse i have tried flashing it to several asus firmware's and tomato nothing took it failed to upload so i back to nothing and p2p doesn't work at all thanks but i need a hwc's router that works already flashed i have the coin so offer it up and i will pay

At this point, it's more likely that there's something defective with the router. Flashing new firmware is a pretty idiot proof process. Any chance of exchange with wherever you bought it?

Your router is most likely defective. I just bought the same model a few weeks back, flashed with DD-WRT, and I've had great performance since. No drops or anything. (This should probably be in PM, oops)

morning bump yes i know that as of yesterday but i got a biddie to pick it up well in Toronto so no return i got taking on it oh well it happens sometimes so still looking for a decent router thanks

Both me and Lpfan4ever have the same model, he is running DDWRT and i am running Tomato (I tried DD-WRT as well and it works fine)

you sure it's the router that's the issue? I have seen bad modems that drop as well.. tomato has been rock solid for me for at least 4-5 years.. both on DSL and on cable

the wireless is pretty good on it as well..

what exactly happens, more details = easier to help you

even if i offer to send you my working router, there is no guarantee it will work there..
