Default EVGA GTX 570 SC Shipped [SOLD]

CARD IS SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey HWC'ers,

Heres the deal, I have a EVGA GTX 570 SC that I'm trying to get rid of. The reason for the cheap price is that about a month ago I noticed it began to artifact on Crysis 2 and crash to desktop when watching you tube or any video rendering program. In EVGA OC Scanner it was showing thousands of artifacts also. I originally thought my overclock on my CPU failed but this was not the case, as it CTD/artifacted when I was at stock CPU clocks(also ran memtest for 24 hours). So I reverted the GPU back to stock clocks of a regular GTX 570 and it was still doing this, I even bumped up the voltage a bit with ELEET, no help.

Finally I shutdown my computer took out the card and voila, once i put it back in works again, no artifacts, no CTD, runs perfect... Until about a week later.

After reading on the forums I realized I wasn't the only one who had this problem. I personally run my computer 24/7 and usually after a week the artifacting starts, its not a temperature problem as my temps are perfectly fine. the card works fines if I turn off my computer(cold boot) and restart it again.

This basically is the only temporary fix i can think do, so once a week I have to do a cold boot and the card is fine for another week, also I cant RMA since I'm the second owner of this card. EVGA really has to look into this problem.

I bought 2 new card already and just want to get rid of this 570,
so if your interested I'm selling it for [SOLD].
PAYPAL is the preferable payment as I dont have EMT. (My Bank doesn't offer the service).

Comes with EVGA 570 Backplate also.

PM me if your interested

AFAIK this isnt an EVGA only issue, LPfan had the same issue with his zotac 570 IIRC.

Strange is there a post anywhere on here about these issues and perhaps some other resolutions besides restarting? What would cause it to be fine after a restart anyway? Only thing I can think of is a short in the fan cable or something?

It seems like some kind of feedback control in the power circuitry that goes into some unstable oscillation if left on for a very long time. I actually posted about the same type of stability issue in the Gigabyte GTX560 Ti SOC thread -- the review sample I purchased from here exhibited some very strange behaviour (crashing in 3D mode) until a cold boot.

Knock on wood the EVGA GTX580 that I now have has not exhibited this type of behaviour -- it's been left on for a couple of weeks with no issues whatsoever.
