Arrow Cheap 775 Quad Q6/8/9xxx

My friend needs an upgrade, the girl's broke and she thought she needs a whole new computer, but I convinced her that just going to a quad will be enough (she does multimedia).

Are there any offers around that are not ridiculously priced? I saw a phenom 955 go for $60 on this forum, there's no reason that a slower older quad should cost much more.

Thanks for your time.

I'll look through the warehouse on Monday but I sold 4 Q6600 on here for $50 each but I dont know if there are anymore in there but worth a look. What does she have now? I might have some far more powerful dual cores?

E4500 at 2.2ghz. But a quadcore would really streamline her workflow. A Q6600 or higher would be great, and that is a much more reasonable price than I've seen on ebay.

If you can have a look that would be great.

Multimedia such as Photoshop editing and the likes? How much RAM is she running? I'm about to do another run to FreeGeek to drop off old parts. I can check if they got any C2Q for cheap. I picked up a Q6600 last time.

Yup, the adobe suit primarily. And 4GB, and I found her some more from an old build, so should be 8GB.
Please do check if they have anything for cheap.

That's a very reasonable offer, I'll PM you if the posters above don't pull through at finding something affordable. I intend to make it a Christmas gift, but I have my own university bills to pay so even a difference of $20-30 is sizable.

There's a q6600 on RFD for $90. Bit pricey but who knows he may take less... Generally they been selling for around $80 shipped or less.
