My System Specs

Default Donation of Misc Computer Parts -> research project

I thought I'd post on here and see what kind of response I might get.

I am looking for those whom would like to donate old (still working) misc computer parts, aka power supplies, ram, motherboards, cpus, hdds, fans, gpus to my current cause/project.

I am going to try to build a reliable PC Parts Power Meter, essentially allowing you to check how much power exactly your gpu or hdd or even pumps are using at idle/load rather then from the wall gestimations.

Post here and/or PM me with what you got, seeing as I have very little of my own money to throw into this other then the semi-expensive prototype chips I'm looking to pay as little to none as possible.

Hey Arinoth,

I would like to donate some stuff. I have about 3 LGA 775 stock heatsinks and 1 mint condition Titan Fenrir, with mounts for LGA 1155 1156 1366 775 and AMD. Let me know!

If i can field the parts to have them boot really anything, I'm going to have to test against different systems and technically older systems have less wires/power meaning it should be less measuring points

I have a free Pentium III with motherboard, ram, power supply, sound card, graphics...

Pretty much the whole machine except for the case. Let me know if you're interested.

I am trying to avoid getting cases as well due to the added space they'll take up and cost to ship

Well I've been doing quite a bit of research and crunched some numbers. With the hardware I have donated so far I don't want to worry about blowing anything up, though I only have one complete system so if that goes I'm kinda screwed. Also, it seems the prototype(s) I will need to build are going to run me up to 500$ due in part to some of the ICs being expensive bought in low quantities.

IF anyone is still interested in helping, let me know either here or in a PM. Who knows maybe if I can get this thing to work and marketable you may see it in the HwC store one day
