I've never tried

But the E8400 has stock of 3.0 GHz vs. 2.4 on the Q6600

When are the better Duel 45nm going to come out? Not the expensive ones just ones that are better than the E8400? Maybe one with 10-12 multiplier for around 300?

they are already out but the 45mn procs fit into my board... but wont run its stock clocks on my board... to achieve the cpu's right speed... i'd have to ""overclock it"" to get to the OEM Speed...

The E8600 is supposed to have a 10 multi for 3.33 GHz stock

So that should oc like a dream... but who knows?
