WTB: Northwood proc

Looking for a cheap northwood proc in 2.4-2.6 class. Puter has max FSB of 533. Celeron is fine too, is a rig for a disabled kid. Can't be prescott, board doesn't support them.
I have eveything else I need already to go.

Thank Ya!

Dude! If I find one...I'll mail it over to you for free...I'll let you know!

I have a 3.0 Northwood available. It served me well - but could find a new home. It is still attached to a MSI 865 Neo2-PLS. If it's really for a disable child, All free.

I have one too, but I don't know if it works. I'm in Ottawa if that helps. Let me know if you need it.

I don't do BS stories Charlie, I regularly build decent last gen rigs for kids who can't go to school because of disease or other issues. Another buddy of mine fixes broken LCD screens that we buy in bulk from a place down in TO when customers leave them after getting a quote for repair that don't want to spend money on. The Gov of Ont will chip in and purchase the OS and training software once you get them stirred up on it. Typically I buy entire business class rigs from the FS threads or system boards and procs etc to keep the stuff moving. We did 15 units last year. This year we have a lady who does air brush art and she is decorating the cases up based on the age of the kid involved. She's doing wonders with the old fashioned beige towers, kids are loving it. I also pick up old video cards etc that will play bargain basement games and the like. We do this out of our own money and are happy to pay people what their stuff is worth. Typically I buy a lot of single core stuff because the enthusiast community is busy ditching their old gear in favour of C2D so I've bought a lot lately.

Anyhow, I have a unit together in this cool looking aluminum Acer case and a nice (but older) NEC 18" LCD panel that we just finished putting a new CFL in. The girl is in Belleville Ontario and can't handwrite anything but she can type!

Anyhow, PM me with that you have and what you want for it, let's make a deal, I need a proc for For the end of Feb for this unit.

Sorry Old, been burnt once. I had to ask. Let me check first if the CPU/mobo is still functional tonight. If it still is, it's all yours free-of-charge - shipping included. Heck, I'll even throw in some OCZ DDR PC3500.

I'll keep you posted.

That's very generous Charlie. I appreciate it though it was unexpected. I'm happy to pay a reasonable price for working hardware and you can always donate the cash to a charity YOU support in turn.

I already give a lot to the Community around here - if it's fonctional, it's all yours. And cash transfers are always "difficult". More tonight.

Rig is fully functional; PM sent.

Taken care of with the huge generosity of a kind member. Thanks Charlie.
