I had the NB maxxed out and the onboard graphics at 1ghz, it still boots but locks up when in any OS. Would asus cover that?

Clear the CMOS , all your settings. Go to the ASUS RMA, and fill out the form

They don't care who owns, or has owned the board. they care about the Serial Number at the bottom.
