Default Panzerfan with G73JH A2 Gaming Laptop up for sales

My 5850 died on me and it is now going through RMA process (I blame Starcraft 2).

At any rate, it made me realize just how much I need an immobile gaming rig. As such, even if it pains me, I am going to put up this baby.

Up for sales is an Asus G73JH A2, with i7 720QM [sic]quad core processor, 8GB of DDR3 1333, 2x500GB (1TB total) 7200RPM drives, and the mobility HD 5870 (about the same as HD5770). This baby has OEM Windows 7 Ultimate on it and it comes with the R.O.G gaming mouse (which is a Cyber Snipa I think) and a laptop backpack with it.

The resolution on this laptop is full HD 1080P, which makes it much better than the X5 version sold at Best Buy.

I will charge $1400 obo. Shipped from Burnaby BC and takes EMT, cash. Reeeeally don't want to go paypal.

Shipping detais have to be worked out with this thing. I will be shipping through Canada Post at any rate.

For some reason every time I send a PM my FireFox times out...
Mods, feel free to clean this after the user changes his OP.

I'm on my Dell Studio right now and it has a 720QM and it shoes 8 threads in task manager.

Intel's sight even shows it as a 4 core processor with hyper-threading: Intel® Core

Or am I missing something?

You are right AmuseMe. I really wasn't thinking straight. Had that processor been the 720M though...

G73JH? This laptop was built basically as an Alienware m17x killer. There were some problems with GSOD which had to be rectified by updating the bios on the 5870m and the laptop. Asus's own catalyst drivers are behind while ATI's didn't play nice with some of them.

The rocker right-left click on the touch pad is not everyone's cup of tea, and the video card is basically on 100% of the time, which does not help with battery life (something that Asus didn't think of honestly). Fortunately, you can get the 700/1000 default clock down to 100/200 by yourself and make this thing go beyond 2 hours on a full charge if situation calls for it.

Just a free bump.
This is a solid laptop, and if you keep it cooled, clean driver installs well it'll serve you very well. I had one for about 3 weeks but it wasn't for me, too big, and too much. I didn't need a desktop replacement, I needed a portable gaming machine(m11x woo!)
Solid beast! Great price for one lucky buyer!
