My System Specs

Default Midrange Nvidia GPU for dedicated PhysX

Ello ladies and gents,

With my recent impulse buys of Batman AA and Metro 2033 i thought it about time that I try get add in some PhysX goodness. So, I'm looking for a midrange Nvidia GPU for dedicated PhysX processing and maybe some cuda later on. Above a 9600GT please, I'd like to have a useful GPU spare if I decide to remove it later on. Hopeful price range will be approx $150 or less, shipping included.

For those that may care, I'll be trying to install this GPU with the "Broken" 256 betas and the 10.5s cats (as Tweaktown did in their recent article). I'd prefer not to have to use the hacked drivers if possible.

Thanks everyone! Send me your offers!

Default Physx

I've used a 9600GT XXX AD and a 9800GT before and you will not be disappointed, once I started Batman AA, I couldn't put it down till it was done lol..

With a GTX 285 though, I'm sure it already can handle the gfx and physx. Metro 2033 you may see some needed FPS improvement.

Games like Metro 2033 supposed actually benefit (again, according to tweak town) in the minimum and average fps department when using high physX and an above-average GPU.

Sorry snatchby, a lil too old methinks. I'd prefer something 9-series or newer. Thanks.

a 285 might be overkill. would love to see the difference in your pc between 8800/260/280 just for physx

its gotta be a cut point somewhere

i know a guy(and ill get flamed for this lol) whos an ati fanboi ..dude bought a 480(yes, idiot spent 500 spare dollars) to have it as physx

he had me on speaker phone and i thought he was sheeting me lol, was close to me back specialist and got over there in 5 minutes...fugger did get it lol.
