My System Specs

Default Intel Socket 775 Quad core cpu for my dad. **The folding community comes through!

Hey all;
I am looking for an Intel cpu for my dad. I am trying the used route this time to try to save some money for my busy summer (I am getting married so I am trying to be cheap). He does not have much money, so I try to keep his computer hobby going. Trying to stick to about $100.

Specs I am looking for:
  • A quad core CPU, socket 775. Will not be overclocking, and will need a HSF too. Stock is fine if you have it.

Include shipping to area code A1E 4V7 with any offer please (Newfoundland).

Hoping to stay within the $100 range for CPU. I can get exactly what I want for $150 brand-new, so I am only considering buying something less than that price.

I prefer to pay using email money transfer, and regular members or sellers with lots of feedback on HWC.

Thanks!

Chris

A quick morning bump. Got a couple of PMs that look good but I'm trying to do this on a budget so I'll wait a few more hours.

Lol looks like a mod cleaned this thread up ;p

Free bump.
You may want to include a price range so as to help narrow down the field for people. That would probably help reduce the number of non-optimal PMs you get ;)

I may be wrong with this, but how about spare a 20$ over your budget and go new? NCIX.com - Buy Kingston SSDNow V Series Gen II 64GB 2.5IN SATA2 Solid State Disk Flash Drive - SNV425-S2/64GB In Canada. I have one in my lappy, and am quite pleased with the performance.

Yeah I thought about the V series but it uses a lacklustre controller from what I have read. I have an offer for a 60GB Vertex that I am thinking about, and an Intel that is out of my range, but still a good deal (also the guy who has it is stuck with it, which i would not like to see).

I have seen some good deals on here recently so I was hoping somebody was on the fence about selling one. With the forums being down so much I might wait a few more days so that more folks could see this thread.

That is a good deal you got there zsams for a 256GB, but I can't spend $400+ right now.

I got a gen 2 Intel...a little out of the price range, but for the price I got it I would be silly to turn it down.

Thanks guys!
