Default Defective LCD Monitors (19" and larger)

Hi All,

Got a 19" or larger LCD monitor that is toast? I'd be happy to take it off of your hands.

I can't pay much, but it would be better to get something for it than leaving it collecting dust or having to pay to dispose of it at a community recycling center!

I'm only interested in defective LCD monitors that exhibit one or more of the following symptoms:
  • Display flickers when cold
  • Flickering display when brightness/contrast settings changed
  • Display has issues until monitor warms up
  • Display shuts off once warmed up
  • Won't power on or
  • Has difficulty powering up/power button has to be pressed numerous times
  • Display issues with color, brightness, contrast etc

Would prefer: 19" and larger LCDs, but will consider 17" panels depending on brand/age. Wide and standard aspect ratio is fine. Internal PSU preferred - i.e. plugs in with standard PC power cable, not an AC adapter. Also willing to buy defective LCD TVs with the same symptoms.

Not interested in:
  • LCDs with physical damage (to the panel itself or other parts of the monitor)
  • LCDs with bad pixels
  • LCDs with external AC adapters (i.e. power brick with DC output)

Please PM me with what you've got including brand and model number as well as a detailed description of what the problem is with the LCD. We can then work out a price

Located in the Brampton/Mississauga area, but willing to pick up in most parts of the GTA and can pay via EMT, Paypal or cash.

I've recently tried my hand at repairing LCDs and have had *some* success
