My System Specs

Default 15.4" Compaq laptop- Turion X2 2Ghz, $299 shipped

I am selling my girlfriends old laptop. The specs are as follows:
Compaq CQ50
AMD Turion X2 RM-70 @ 2.0ghz Dual Core processor
2GB (2x1gb) ddr2 ram
120GB HDD w/ restore partition INTACT
DVD RW
Geforce 8200m graphics
Integrated wifi (a/b/g), ethernet and modem
15.4” LCD display- no scratches, dings, dead pixels or damage.
Vista Home Edition COA on bottom
Comes with 10.8v 47Wh 4400mAh (4 cell?) battery and power adapter. Gets up to 2.5 hours light use with wireless on.

3 things one should know:
1) The battery clips were broken when it arrived, I believe customs just ripped it out and broke them, but I replaced one with a piece of plastic and the battery stays in, though I doubt it is as secure as the original clips. Obviously this does not affect performance and is not visible unless the battery is out and laptop is flipped over.
2) There are scratches. The ones on the lid are visible in certain light, not in others. I have tried to show them the most I can with in the photo. There are only a couple small nicks around the keyboard.
3) Yes, the chipset to this laptop has a high failure rate. This laptop even boots to a white screen for a few seconds sometimes. BUT (!!!) it has done this for over the year we’ve had it and has not gotten worse or demonstrated other abnormal behaviour.

3 good things though.:
1) Undervolting: RMClock and Notebook Hardware Control do not work with any k10 amd cpu, though I did find a program that can control cpu voltage called K10Stat. If the buyer likes, I can freely install this, set it to run on startup and keep the CPU undervolted. This keeps the laptop cooler, thus fan noise down and causes less ware on the laptop.
2) This laptop had the best speakers of all the other laptops I’ve used (DV5, DV3, 1525, LG P300 and a couple others).
3) Fully cleaned out heatsink. This laptop takes a lot longer to get into than any other I’ve worked on.

All that considered I am only asking $SOLD. Price not too flexible. Not much I want for a trade but who knows.

PM is key, I prefer EMT. PayPal is an option, shipping includes insurance. Questions, comments, let me know!

This seems interesting, I might have gone and bought it if only there weren't these problems.
