For all the people asking, OS X runs as smoothly as Win 7 does on a netbook, it's pretty good with 2 gb of ram.

I've always wanted a mac (on pc) just for the fun of it.

Nice deal, too bad I already have a netbook myself, otherwise this one will be gone.

And I can confirm that windows7 runs smoothly even with my atom and 1gb of ram.

I have never owned a laptop, netbook, notebook debating if I should. If I do is this a good thing to start with?

It depends what you're looking for. If you're looking for something light to travel with, web surf, word process, etc, then this may be your cup of tea. But if you're looking with a bit more processing power, then maybe not.

Maybe other people can chime in, I don't want to come off as biased.

yes, basically what RLP said, netbook like this one is good for travelling, typing notes, web surfing...etc. Light and long battery life, but dont expect large keyboard to type on or high performance. It also doesn't feel hot.
