What mobo are you using? most mobo's nowadays support 1066mhz, even if it's through overclocking, I've seen matx htpc mobo's with 1066mhz option xD

your Maximus Formula supports it fine
if its the last rev 8fdX single sided microns is a problem

The mobo that this RAM was mean't for was an older MSI Neo p45. I didn't mod any bios settings to accommodate the memory, it was for a friends build(a few months back, we are no longer on talking terms, ram is for sale :) )

(i've never put this in the Maximus Formula)

the ram should run fine in msi p45
test it in Maximus Formula
is it 16fdX or 8fdX
