That's the nice thing about these chips - they're overclockable regardless of the mobo, as long as it's compatible.

Still working on figuring that out. My 4P rig just completed 24 hours regular-SMP folding stable at 3.5 GHz this morning and I'm testing it at 3.6 GHz today. I'm also going to be limiting my overclock somewhat, as I want to keep the rig under a peak AC power draw of 750W. At my current vcore I'm drawing a peak of 670W through a Gold-rated PSU, so I do have some more volts to play with, but not too much more.

just realized that with my Motherboard I can't OC those cpu bummer that means I have to try and find a different motherboard grrr.

With your combo of the Tyan board and retail OS6272s, I'm afraid that overclocking is not in your future, my friend.

Au contraire, mon ami - I have indeed tested these chips on an ASUS KGPE-D16 and the board is compatible with them. Overclocking is in your future!
