Default Hows EMT working is it really safe?

Hi,

I made some reasearch and didnt find much informations about this.

Can someone please tell me how EMT is working?
How is the money transfering? Is there many steps?

Is it safe? If I buy something from someone, are they receiving the money right away or is the system waiting for me to say "ok, I received it"?

If I do not receive the item I ordered/bargained for do I need to make some sort of complaint or is my money lost?

thx

(please make a stricky tread with this kind of usefull information!)

and EMT is like a electronic cheque that clears within the hour.
It is, and always has been buyer beware because there is no security on transactions with this method. The banks cannot trace where it went without out police warrant.

not sure this was the right place to post.....

EMT is a program administered by certain chartered banks. You must have a bank account there. When you go to send money you do so by logging onto their website and send the money to an email address. When you receive money you are notified by email and you have to log onto your bank account. You may accept OR deny the funds. In both cases the money is withdrawn or added into said accounts. There is a $1.50 handling fee. I consider this to be the best way to exchange funds as well as one of the safest.

Having said that, if you do not receive your goods, the money is probably gone as the bank has nothing to do with your choice of vendors etc.

well. if the seller is a scammer, he can withdraw the funds from paypal and even if you win you get nothing. i got scammed before. the good thing about emt is that is thru canadian banks. you can get scammed the same, but its a bit easier to trace sicne them oney will have to be deposited in a bank account.

Agreed... personally always check into the person ur trading with... I personally dont deal with anyone that hasnt made a trade on this forum, its alot safer for me and the other partie, another important step is to make sure the person takes a picture of the item with his or hers name some were in the picture on piece of paper to show that he or she actually has what he or she says they have.

get as much info about the person as possible before trading... if you follow these steps and use EMT it fast and safe for both parties.

That doesn't make any sense. If everyone thought like this, no new members would ever get to trade.
