2.67GHz Octo-core, 24GB FB-DIMM, Supermicro system; 640GB HDD; TF7150 HDMI mobo

Okay, I've had my fun with it (using a 16GB RAM disk is f-ing awesome), but I really need to scale back now. Business has been slow, and I'm also in the process of getting ready to make a big switch in careers. This computer will be useless to me in that career, especially considering I won't even be near it.

Willing to trade for a quad-core + motherboard + 8GB or more RAM, preferably 12GB-24GB (+ some cash if necessary). Preference is Core i7 or Phenom II X4, but I will settle for a Core 2 Quad. All prices negotiable, don't be afraid to offer.

  1. 2x Intel E5330 Quad-Core processors. I have pin-modded these to 2.66GHz. I have, however, overclocked them to 3GHz with the motherboard below.
    $430 for both
    .
  2. 4x 4GB DDR2-800 FB-DIMM + 4x 2GB DDR2-800 FB-DIMM, for 24GB total. Important note: One of the sticks should be RMAed to eWiz, it is running at 2GB instead of 4GB. That means it will force a good stick to be knocked down to 2GB as well, since these run in pairs. Effectively, you will have 20GB instead of 24GB RAM.
    $640 for all eight
    .
  3. 1x Supermicro X7DWA-N motherboard. This is a dual-socket motherboard, it accepts 8 FBDIMMs up to 64GB, and two quad-core CPUs. Specs at Newegg.ca. Includes I/O shield.
    $450
    .
  4. 1x Seagate 640GB hard drive. This is a dual-platter 7200RPM drive. (Temporarily removed to RMA, so you will be getting a new drive.)
    $76
    .
  5. 1x Biostar TF7150 motherboard. Takes one LGA775 CPU. I think it supports everything except 45nm quads, but should take 45nm duals. Overclocks decently with CPU, FSB, NB, and RAM voltage adjustment, FSB, divider and memory timings adjustments as well. For full disclosure: if you want to use the onboard HDMI output on this thing, it DOES support audio over HDMI, but you have to use older drivers (1.0.0.6 for HDMI with 163.xx video drivers). It's weird. I was never able to figure out how to use newer drives without sacrificing HDMI audio.
    $52

That's everything. I will discount multiple items. I would prefer to trade/sell the entire FB-DIMM+CPUs+mobo as a single bundle, discounted, of course. I might also sell the water blocks (two D-Tek FuZion v1) if you want them for the bundle.

The cast of Battlestar Galactica approves this message.

Mind the ridiculous mess.

Willing to do $1350 - the value of your quad-core+motherboard(+ram if you have some) for the 8-core bundle.

Don't do it Chilly! Behemoth can't compete against Chaos 1.0 and this system!!! :haha:

In all seriousness though, for anyone looking for a multitasking wonder, this is the system for you. Free bump!

I can barely afford Chaos, what makes you think I can afford this too? :haha:

I hope we can keep this system in the HWC "family" at least. Hummm, we need to make a HWC Dual CPU or MOAR club on here...

Totally agreed! Perhaps a "workstation/server" category under hardware? and we could add benchmarks for anyone wanting to follow our footsteps? hehe. anyways, this is OT. GL with the sale S_G!!!

Well, thanks for the free bumps, guys. My offer of $1350 minus the value of whatever you want to trade for the bundle still stands. Makes a hell of an encoding box. As of now, the most use it has been getting in the past couple of weeks is playing and streaming TV shows. Although I do make good use of all eight cores with the crazy ffdshow filters I have running. :punk:
