My System Specs

Default AMD Socket 754 Motherboard

Okay, my first post so i'll keep the story short and simple.

An old S754 mobo in my household kicked the can a few days ago after about a little more than 5 years of intense use (exploded capacitors), so I need a replacement. I guess I should list what i'm looking for in the board, so it goes as follows:

- mATX (probably most important, seeing as the case will only support this)
- 8x AGP Slot (yes, i've seen some PCI-E, but pointless)
- New, barely used or moderately used (hoping less than a year, not exceeding 2) BUT NOT a board that's essentially on its last legs
- Fairly priced (This is old technology we're talking about here lol)
- Faceplate (Probably a requirement for obvious reasons)
- Manual (Not required if can be found online)

The guidelines that follow above would be nice, what would be even sweeter would be if the right offer comes along and that person can do the transaction face-to-face (and avoid the middleman transferring the funds), but that'll wait for the time when an offer comes along.

Anyways, hoping for the best and thanks for your time.

Ya, damn :S wish the case would support full size ATX, but too bad it was design solely for mATX :( i'd probably would've jumped on your board offer if it was. Thanks anyways though.

If it's just exploded caps you can get that fixed for about the $40 mark.... where do you live?

Vancouver, but for $40... jeez, it'd be more economical to find a used replacement board.

Vancouver! Crack the yellow pages open and start phoning up computer recyclers, or the countless repair shops, pawn shops, it should be a snap digging up a case or mobo. I live in Powell River, if u can dig up an atx case and can pay me through emt paypal I could ship the K8N to u for $45 shipped.

Or just get a new mobo cpu combo from ncix $99 slap in some ddr2 ram $25ish(but no agp).

Good luck.

Man, sounds like a lotta work to dig up an atx case lol, and besides, computer recyclers are mostly shady and just chuck the e-waste into cargo containers and mail them to China.

Shipping cost is also kinda why I hoped to do it face-to-face.

Also ya, I know about my options from NCIX, I troll there quite a bit. The reason why I didn't want to bring in new is kinda the reason why this thread is here.

Anyways, day 4 and bumping up and still looking.
