It is rather low for a gaming system, though rather than buying a whole system outright, I would piece together what you can find on the buy and sell here with whatever else you need new. I'm sure you could put together something halfway decent for that budget.

I guess if you went with an E5200 and low end G31 board with a cheap case and what not you could blow some $ on a decent video card and have a good setup. There was a nice deal on an X2 5000+ for sale in the forums a couple days ago and theres always AM2 boards up for grabs.

+1 the question. Btw have you guys checked Futureshop or bestbuy? they normally have stuff around this price range, sometimes they even have dedicated graphics

+1 for peicing together a cheap system from parts. I can get you a P5KPL-CM for $60 An 8800GTX or 9800GTX+ for $140-$150 Someone must have a cpu DDR2 ram & psu cheap then pick up that Antek 300 case buddy has on here for it all. I have an E2200 for $60 but you'd prolly want something abit bigger than that heh it still works lol.

Heck Drop a good Graphics Card into my Test Sig and You'd be doing well for most mid-end games
all depends on what you are doing with it.

syn3rgetic over at RFT had a good gaming pc for $500. I think it was a 500gb drive with core 2 duo e6700 (ES), and HD 4870. Crazy deal if you ask me. My friend was supposed to buy it, but backed out. I think he still has the PC. Drop him a PM, and say netforce sent ya ;)
