Complete reinstall of everything and manual control of the fans got rid of the heating problem.

Thanks for helping me out through the whole ordeal Morphine!

10 Hrs of Prime95 + 5Hrs of Memtest + 5 Hrs of 3DMark06 with fan speed @ 50%
= 86C at the highest temp recorded for one core (so I'm guessing the other core which would
heat up more would be around 90C)


Now on to installing programs/games to test the real-world Awesomeness of this card.

Thanks for the update - I am very happy that you got everything working!

I am still annoyed at the fan control though - the ATI Catalyst drivers should be doing everything automatically for you, just like they did for me in my rig.

I did some Googling and the problem does appear to happen in some rigs, but I can't find out a specific reason why.
