Nice buys on earlier batches. Informal scuttlebutt is that Intel's finally begun to properly bin the i7's, and the newer 920 batches aren't clocking quite as easily as the earlier ones.

I have heard this as well. Thus the wrench in my plans to wait until this summer for i7...the missus would kill me though...:rtfm:

not necessarily true, sounds like internet rumors. more likely luck of the draw with recent batches. 3842Axxx's have been clocking very nicely so keep your eyes peeled boys.

My 3842A321 does 4GHz at 1.35v crunching stable 10 pass LinX stable and everthing else stable (hence why I kept it and sold the other two which weren't very far behind!)

It does run a bit hotter though.
