Default PII 266 mHz Processor

Like the title says. I decided I wanted to try to swap the CPU in my Toughbook CF-25. Someone must have one kicking around. Would prefer if it was free but I am willing to make it worthwhile. I will be paying for the shipping of course.

Hehe, I have exactly what you need. I don't use it, but couldn't get myself to throw it away.

Its a PII 266, don't have it under hand right now, but could check it out for u. Don't have any boxes and would need info on exactly what you need.

The biggest problem would be my location, I am in Montreal, H9K 1J1.

As for price, we could make it symbolic more than anything. Anyway, waiting for your answer.

My mistake, I'm actually looking for a Socket 7 P55C Pentium I 266mmx with a 2.8vcore, NOT a PII I guess.

Default CPU is hard wired in these machines

.... so you are planning on soldering to obtain a new multiplier?

I looked at a number of manuals and they each spec'd a specific cpu.
Then I found this forum post:
Panasonic CF-25 processor upgrade how? - Wim's BIOS Page

I didn't delve any further.

I've got a P 233 MMX (SL27S/2.8V) you can have -I'll pay shipping.

Yeah that's the post I was looking at, I figure I don't anything to lose seeing as the laptop is over 10 years old. I will definitely take up on that offer if your still interested.
