Default Phenom x4 9850 BE - $100 OBO

Hello, i have a Phenom 9850 for sale because i bought the new Phenom 2 940 to replace this one. I never overclocked because I have an Asus motherboard with the old SB600 southbridge, if you have a newer 790GX/X/FX MoBo it will overclock.

Comes in original box with unused stock heatsink. I live in Calgary.

Just curious how much of a difference you notice going from this to the 940?

My ASUS M3A32-MVP with the older SB600 and the 9850 was a little flakey. I would get BSOD once in a while with errors like "Clock interupt failed on secondary processor" or somthing like that. I did a lot of research and am convinced its the SB600 on my motherboard. So instead of buying a new motherboard with the newer SB750 (uses something caled "advanced clock calibration", which corrects the BSOD problem) I just bought the 940 to get the preformace increase. BIG INCREASE, I overclocked the 940 in about 3 seconds from the stock 3 GHZ to 3.4 GHZ, I just bumped the multi from 15 to 17 and it runs like a champ, even on the SB600. So from 2.5 GHZ on the 9850 to 3.4 GHZ on the 940 is a big jump and is very noticable in my mind.

If you want to buy this CPU i would highly recommend a mobo with the SB750 southbridge, this chip is 140 Watt and AM2+ socket.

If you have PM'ed me, I can’t seem to read them to some database error. This chip is a year old and I might be able to scrounge for the bill. I bought it at Memory Express here in Calgary so I could get a copy of the bill from them if you want. I have decided to sell to anyone in Canada for $100 (shipping included). It will be shipped via Fed Ex for the quickest delivery.
