Default Shipping material

Hi,

mods if you feel this should be moved, please do it !

I will be shipping my Mountain mods to a member of the forum here. The case is 18''X18''x18''. I will aslo be including a PA120.3 into the box.

Now, I have an issue about how to package it and where to buy box big enough.

First question, appolo or other members, can you tell me how NCIX ship it ?

I was thinking of putting bubble wrap/newspaper around the PA120.3 and tape it to the inside bottom of the case.

Not sure about the side pannels. Maybe wrap them in buble wrap and tape them to the case ? Them put newspaper/buble wrap aroung the case and put it inside a shipping box ?

So my shipping box would need to be 20'' or 19'' cubed. Where can I find this in Montreal ?

At one point I was thinking of taping a box together myself......

I thought that the MM cases can be completely taken apart, right? You can wrap each panel in bubblewrap and stick it in a box.

Large boxes of various sizes and packing material can be purchased at Self Storage centers...U-Haul centers also have a good selection of various sizes.

Cheers.

When I got my antec 1200 from NCIX it was in a box double the size of the case, with padding around the actual case box, then the box that had the case in it, had its own padding as well. Overall the box was about the size of a small hockey net. hehe

Yup matsta it came in a box with the full thing wrapped in bubble wrap. A thick box is needed incase they are rough with it.

I would put some extra cardboard in there over the side panels to protect them if something penetrates the box. No idea on where to get a box that big in Montreal.

And I would package the 120.3 seperately. I would not take the chance of having such a large and heavy component becoming loose inside the case - taped up or not.

What I would do is build a box for the PA then line the inside of the MM case with thick card board put the PA in it & stuff the hell out of it with balled newspaper ect so there would be no way it would get loose in there. Then if you couldn't find a box big enough(Moving companys or storage facilities would have one for sure) get thick card board & start lining the outside with layers. Three should do it with LOTS of tape! It'll work trust me. lol

Lol,
Yep I am there, I'll use the saturday edition of my news papaer, fill the case with it and put the Buble wrapped PA120.3 in there.

I think I will buy a box and then cover it with another level of cardboard. Tape all of it. Should work.
