Default Asus G2S-A1 17" notebook

PRICE - 1300$ -> item also seen here (Asus G2S-A1 17" laptop)

Selling a year old Asus G2S-A1 notebook - have recently (late December 08) had the screen replaced, as well as all cosmetic damage accumulated over the year - it is now in excellent condition

as far as specifications are concerned the main highlight is the WUXGA 17.1" TN panel/screen (for those not so tech savvy, thatís a 1920x1200 resolution)

the system is using the Intel 965PM mobile chipset and has been upgraded to 3gb of system memory (i have replaced a 1gb stick with a corsair 2gb VS2GSDS667D2 CL 5-5-5-15 PC2-5300 200pin SODIMM)

In terms of storage, it is using a 160GB Hitachi 2.5" 5400 RPM SATA2 HDD

the processor is an Intel core 2 duo T7500, a 65nm mobile Centrino processor clocked at 2.2GHZ and w/ a 4mb cache (2 megs per core) and running at a FSB of 800
(Intelģ Core?2 Duo Mobile Processor T7500 - SLA44)

it is using a straight forwards super multi optical drive (burns CD/DVDís and reads CD's/DVD's) and has light scribe/ burns dual layer discs

Supports all of the wireless standards with integrated wireless except wireless B (does a/g/n, or so Asus says)

In terms of OS it is using a 32bit version of windows vista home premium - i will reformat and reinstall the OS upon sale, I still have the recovery disc and drivers CD to be included - as well as the original invoice in hopes that ASUS will continue to warranty the notebook until the 24th of December, 2009 (it was purchased from NCIX)

The notebook has 5 USB's (one is a USB/ESATA Combo port) as well as VGA, S-video, and HDMI out. The integrated card reader supports MS, MSPRO, SD, SDHC, MMC, and XD memory cards. 3.5mm jacks for line out audio and microphone line in jack - specs also specify SPDIF out - I am unfamiliar with this. also has fire wire and RJ45/RJ11 jacks (RJ45 is gigabit Ethernet)and a Kensington lock hole.

Integrated Mic and 1.3mp webcam - webcam is somewhat mediocre in performance - Bluetooth 2.0 is integrated as well - and battery is 4800 mAh Li-ion 8 cell battery - expect about an hour and a half to two hours on full charge at best. Expansion card slot is an express card

the approximate dimensions are 16.16" x 12.43" x 1.83" and it weighs ~9.6lbs

The video card is an Nvidia 8600M GT w/ 256mb DDR3 VRAM with 32 stream processors, a core clock of 475Mhz and a memory clock of 950MhZ (shader clock is 700Mhz) a pretty decent DX10 card for a notebook, plays games well and has hardware decoding so all video playback is flawless

The warranty covered by Asus is the best in the business, as Asus pays for FedEx priority overnight both ways to their repair location in Ontario and back. It is a global coverage so they warranty it practically anywhere, and are very quick with repairs (generally 3-5 business days in Canada)

Small things to note, as per cosmetics it is missing two of the 10 or so rubber feet - still sturdy on a flat surface so that is quite insignificant but necessary to mention none the less

the specifications directly from the manufacturer can be found following this link (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.)
but please note that i have upgraded the memory, and the details for this individual model are noted under G2S-A1 at the bottom of the page

To get a good idea of the appearance of the notebook, please see the images found at Newegg

(Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!)

Please note that i am unable to supply the 17" notebook bag and mouse shown as they
have both broken

I will be able to ship with various shippers depending on the destination, Canada post, FedEx, Purolator, UPS and so forth. To get a price for the shipping it would be best for me to get a courier option and destination first - but please note shipping should be relatively cheap

I will likely be shipping out of the NCIX warehouse, as i am staff at one of their locations and will get a bit of a better price in terms of shipping (And no i wont help you process your orders from NCIX =D)

That said, i am based out of the lower mainland so if you are local shipping may not be neccisary - As for payment, must be recieved PRIOR to shipping, and i would prefer an EMT, but if it is a local transaction without shipping cash would suffice
