Default Intel X25-M 80GB SSD Drives - only $500

Well, I wanted 4 of these in a RAID-0 array for the ultimate in quickness. I was hoping for about 900MB/s reads, 300MB/s writes, and negligible seek times. The 3ware controller card that I'm using gives me dismal performance in RAID-0, and ICH10R doesn't scale past 600MB/s no matter how many drives I hook up to it. I can either compromise performance on what was supposed to be a no compromises setup, I can spend more yet again (already pushed past the limit) on a better RAID card, or I can just sell them and wait for later. These drives showed up at my house on Friday, December 12, 2008, so they are like new.

keywords: solid state drive, SSD, Intel, MLC, 80GB

Asking $525>>$500 each for these drives. Take more than one for $500>>$450ea and free shipping

Decided to keep them. I was balking at the cost of adding a RAID controller, but instead I've decided to simply run them off the onboard ICH10R RAID controller.

Yeah... I know. If I see an opportunity to sell them I probably still will though.

With the read cap on the ICH10R I'd have been better off with cheaper drives instead of these expensive ones and could have gotten the same results :(

Okay these are back up for grabs. I've decided to just take a hit on them instead of spending the extra money on a RAID card.
