WTB: Xbox 360

Not usually a big console gamer but am really wanting to pick up Rock Band 2 or GH: World Tour and since Rock Band 1 sucked on my PS2 I figured I'd see if anyone had a 360 they don't really use any more.

Been looking at the Xbox 360 arcade for $199 but if I can find one cheaper (hopefully with a hard drive) then even better.

Besides...if I can pick up a cheap 360 then I can also afford that PC upgrade I've been saving for :thumb:

Rock Band FTW! I love that game. Drums are the best. I also like singing, lol. Guitar doesn't do it for me as much as I play real guitar so RB guitar is like meh. Anyways good luck. Bump for Rock Band!

Sorry, mine is still in heavy use with Rock band 2 and COD:WaW. :P If you do get an xbox, RB2 and live, be sure to PM me so we can play. I need more people to play with D:

Those are refurbs though, so you might get hit with a RROD 360.

Your best bet is to buy an arcade for $200 and then purchase a refurbished 20gb HDD from microsoft for $20.

You probably won't find one cheaper than that.

RROD is extremely easy to fix, or you can just pay someone.. i know there are bunch of ppl in Ottawa who will do it for $20. I might go pick one of those up and get it modded

Ya but I doubt he wants to pay $20 every time he encounters an RROD problem.

but for $150, it's definitely worth buying just for the sake of modding it and playing burnt games.

The fix is permanent, if its the x-clamp fix.

werth November 18, 2008 07:20 PM

correct ,if you know how the RROD is caused, youll understand its an easy one time fix. cheap and easy. although, who knows where these refurbs have been. half of them are probably banned from live.

Thanks for the tips everyone - looks like factorydirect is the place to go.
Looked up that RROD fix and it seems easy enough too so not too worried about that.

edit: argh...says they're only available in retail stores, and since they're in Ontario and I'm in Alberta it looks like that's not possible.

Guess I'll email them and see if they can courier one out.

***EDIT AGAIN***

So it turns out that factorydirect is out of stock everywhere.

I've been reading up on the infamous RRoD's and the fix (replacing the clamps on the GPU/CPU) seems fairly simple...has anyone tried it?
Seems from a quick google search that it seems to work ok.

Learning towards picking up an RRoD'd one and trying to fix it.
Don't suppose anyone here has one they're willing to part with for cheap?
