hey man..i'm here in toronto and a used qx9650 is going for $550-$580. BNIB is going for $600-$650. Are the prices in your part of town that much higher? I'm looking to get one and didn't wanna post this in your thread as I didn't wanna come across as crapping on your very nice thread ;) Also...have you run into an FSB wall with this cpu and if so..what was it? Check out Redflagdeals and you'll see where I'm getting my pricing from. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what you could tell me. I don't know how fast or how much shipping would be from your place to toronto either...have any ideas?

I'm aware of prices, and I'm also aware what those chips can do and what mine does. Shipping is included in that price, BTW, 2-day expresspost.

This chip is one of the best QX9650 out there..maybe 5 I have seen worldwide clock as well. With a little LN2, that price buys you some world records, if you are into benching...

Most used QX9650 have seen more than 1.4v...mine only needs to adjust vcpu to 1.3v for 4ghz(less with GTL tweaks), and has yet to reach a FSB wall that wasn't board-induced.

That said though, I'm running on a BlackOPs, which isn't everyone's cpu of tea. I can boot into 460FSB, but haven't tried for more as I don't want to give the cpu more than 1.4v.


So you can take your luck on another chip, or get my almost-golden one for a few dollars more, shipping included!

Thanks for the quick reply. That chip does sound pretty golden. Not really into benching...just a lot of photo stuff for work. Black Ops with 460 fsb..damn! I appreciate the info you provided...believe me I'd take that off your hands if I had the scratch, but it's just too steep right now. I truly hope it finds a good home and whosoever gets that beast is extremely lucky! All the best...if it's still around when/if I can manage that price, I'll be sure to check in with you.
