Headset Recommendations

Well I managed to damage my Sennheiser pc-151 input jack, faulty connection between the 3.5mm jack and the wire, so I am in need of a new headset.

I have been happy all in all with my Sennheiser's other than this, knew it was just a matter of time since the wires are pretty thin but thought I would get some recommendations, I use them for FPS/Vent so music isn't a big issue, wouldn't mind trying out a 5.1 headset but have no exp with them.
So give me some recommendations, price under $200 but if they are $200 they better be worth it:).

I could I guess but they are well used, not to mention starting to get that funky fear sweat smell.

Wow , my recommendation is a brand new pair and skip the repairs.

What do you primarily use your headsets for ie. gaming, music, movie watching, etc. it would make it easier to direct you to the right product.

Yeah, the Sennies are great. I have the 151's as well, a good deal on sale. Why not grab another pair? Comes with Assasins creed.

I hear mixed reviews on the Razers, though I do have the AC-1 soundcard


Anyone tried the Sennhieser pc-350? Abit pricy though.

Ya, I’ve seen those reviews. I have seen good reviews when you have their sound card and their headphones.

Back to your original ?, since I got my 5.1 headphones, with the multiple speakers inside. I’ll never buy plain ol headphones again.

I had steel series V2 (not the usb version),

I did like them a lot and at around 100 $ they are well priced. 5.1, pretty nice sound for gaming. The real downside to them, for me anyways : music playing was ok.

That does not seem to be a problem in your case.

Some report out there of loose wiring, I never had the time to get there, my son decided to kill them before anything could happen. Amazing what a 16 months old can do to a headset in 5 minutes....

So until he gets older, 20 $ generic headsets for me.....

Going with either 5.1 headphones, or headphones with built-in microphones tends to place a relatively low cap on sound quality. I've used the pc-151 before, and they're not bad for the price, I'd probably just get another set of those, or a comparable cheap set.
