i have a set of Z5500's but i have no soundcard,,,so im looking for one now,,,
im looking for a sound card thats worth its price,,,and not to expensive (under $100)
As sswilson said, onboard wont have any difference from a soundcard. If your motherboard doesn't have the digital out, just get the cheapest soundcard that has it.

For your price range, I suggest the Xonar DX 7.1. Although you will only have Dolby Digital Live!, my guess would be you won't use it. It has been proven time and again that with newer, higher quality soundcards your usually better off going analog to many devices including those speakers. The DAC unit in the Z-5500's would be of a lower quality and you will get better sound quality with a new card in analog mode. Hope that helps.
