If you want to stick creative look for a titanium for around $150. The sound blaster z I think might be a slight upgrade

If you want better go to the Xonar ST/X models and probably the Xonar d-whatever models would give you similar sound to your fatality for under $100

Depends on your budget. Under $100, the Xonar DX would be my recommendation. There's a Titanium in the BST you could probably make a deal on in the low one hundreds. Top of the line? Xonar Essence STX, but it's over $200.

I have a Phoebus and love it for the on desk volume and mute dongle for gaming, but for that kind of money I'd probably pick the STX today.

Just throwing it out there, but I think I have a DX sitting in it's box gathering dust in my house. Fire me a PM if you're interested and want to go with a cheaper option.

Titanium is a solid option. I just avoid Creative due to their past business ethics.

Sugar is right on with the STX. It's an excellent all around sound card if you're willing to pay for it.

I finally replaced an old Audigy 2 card with a Xonar DX. Chalk and Cheese. The DX may be over a year old already but it is a great card, totally blows away both onboard and Creative. I listen to music with my Denon AH D340 and play BF4. This sound card is perfect.

I am OCD when it comes to wiring and the only downside to this card is that it needs an external power supply. I have forgotten about this. It's a small price to pay for great sound.

The drivers can be a little on the questionable side. I use modded drivers, Google Xonar Unidriver (much better)........

Loving my DX...... Got a great price at Frys too.... Look around, some good prices online...

Edit: See what Caldezar wants for his....

Specifically it uses a floppy drive power connector so double check your PSU cables and/or get your hands on a molex -> floppy power adapter.

And yeah... the drivers were a pita.... seems to me they always hung on the first attempt to install, but worked properly on the second.....

Do you want audio out of both at the same time, and does your case have front panel audio?
