Default Headphone for movies/music???

Hi, need some help choosing a headphone for listening to music and watching movies on my pc.
I have the Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z w/ supreme fx mobo. I'd prefer to have a noise cancellation headphone.

I would also be using it for travel on my ipod/ipad.

btw, Sennheiser pxc 310 any good? Bose qc 15? Any other brand I should look into?

I recommend Senheisser over Bose any day for normal use. However, Bose has nice noise cancelling sets for airplanes and the like, but over that they have no stellar sound quality for the price (Like Beats by Dr.Dre lol)

Honestly for noise cancellation I cant say too much, but I have used the Bose Comfort 15's on a jet from Dallas to Japan (14 hours) and they really did a great job!

beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO - Studio Headphones - Studio & Stage - Headphones & Headsets - Headphones & Headsets

Available in 32ohm, 80ohm and 250ohm versions.

For ipod use, 32ohm would be best as 32ohm headphones require a lot less power draw to achieve the same volume level as 250ohm headphone which is ideal for battery powered mobile devices.

Ridiculously comfortable.

Sound quality is exceptional when compared to similar priced items.

They also sound pretty damn good, lol.

Good enough to have been used for many a Headphone shootout over the years and by countless Audio Techs, Producers, Musicians, Audiophiles, ect..

Headphones shootout test - [English]

The DT990 Pro Headphones (as shown in the above link) are an 'open' version of the DT770 'closed' version, with both sharing exactly the same hardware and specifications.

Noise cancelling is more than sufficient.

Can be found for as little as $240 AU.
