Headphones Amps
I was wondering, do you need an amp for good headphones? i mean, 80$ to 150$ headphones? I only had basic heaphones *_*

I mean, if i get high end headphones, will my soundcard do the job? (audiobox USB)or you need special hardware?

You only *need* an amp for higher impedance headphones that don't get loud enough without them. It doesn't really matter what they cost. Some $100 headphones need an amp, some $300 headphones don't.

My headphones are low impedance but still benefit from an amp.

So it depends on the headphone.

They should be easy to drive from pretty well any source. Once you start going over 80ohms it starts to get hard to drive.

I have a 32 Ohms Audio-Technica and it doesn't require a headphone amp, but Jake is right, if they are 80 Ohms you probably should invest in one.
I would say that anything above 36 Ohms will most likely require one.
