1. Where are you plugging the headphone or speaker?
2. Did you check if BIOS auto disabled on-board sound?

O.K. problem solved . I put the sound card in a different pcie slot and now it works. Thanks everone.

Problem solved. I put the sound card in another pcie slot and BOOM ....SOUND ....Yes, way better than the onboard sound .. Thanks all.

I love my asus xonar DG... it was dirt cheap and offers very good sound quality... i also picked up some creative hs 800 cans.... they are amazing aswell :)
