Edifier S730 - Is It Worth It?

I'm looking to upgrade my current setup which is the logitech z313. I pm'd the edifier's from ncix to $272, do you guys think i should wait another two months for a christmas sale or just buy it now? Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

You won't get those any cheaper and they are even more worth it if you love tormenting your neighbors, LOL!

You can find the S550 5.1 Edifiers for $320. I'd be tempted to spend the extra $58 to get a 5.1 system even if you don't have room for it now.

Edifier is good shit. They are a Canadian company and I had the S5.1 system before it became discontinued and it was loud and extremely crisp. The sub weight like 80lbs.

Hehe you're right! I don't have room for it now =( I was thinking to grab the 2.1 setup because I already have my sennheiser hd 558 for movies and surround sound stuff (although i won't have the deep rumbling bass with hd 558s) Hmm i might regret wearing headphones for long movies.... Man I AM tempted to spend the extra on a 5.1 system now Thanks for replying!

Thanks for replying =) I'm a newb when it comes to audio and speakers so i don't really know about prices.

Just don't connect the rear speakers and set it up as a 2.1 on your sound card. Then if/when you have room you have a 5.1. I'm not knocking the S730's, far from it, just if I was spending that much on a 2.1 I'd hate to have to sell it to upgrade to a 5.1 anytime soon.

Thanks guys! After much thought, I've decided that the s730 won't properly fit in my room and are quite pricey even though it's like almost 50% off. So I went ahead and ordered the corsair sp 2500 for $178 + $20 mir ( If anyone else is interested I requested a pm at Mem express using Newgg)
