Default Need a good 2.1 system

I just recently moved into a condo and my Z5500's are a bit to big to stuff into my room comfortably (I think) so I stuck them on my tv system instead and now I need a nice set of 2.1's for my room.

I have good headsets to use but I really dislike having to wear one all the time so I'm hoping I can scrounge up a decent priced 2.1 set that will do the job.

If you want a resonably priced set the S330D sound great for 125, the best in that price range.

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input - EDIFIER - S330D

If you want amazing and are willing to spend the money you can't beat the S730. regular 479.99, on sale for 349.99

Edifier S730 2.1 Speaker Set 300W RMS Silver Black Wired Remote With LCD Display - EDIFIER - S730

The S330D is a nice set of speakers. I can also recommend the Klipsh Promedia 2.1

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer Speaker System 160W RMS - Klipsch - PROMEDIA2.1

A bit pricier than the 330D but an excellent product.

Are you recommending the from the Promedia 2.1 of a few years back or the recently released ones? About a year ago or so they redesigned the Promedia 2.1's and are nothing like they used to be unfortunately, yet named them the exact same thing. I haven't heard the new set of Promedia's but everyone I know who has heard both liked the S330D better. Real shame as the Promedia's where amazing.

Either go 330D or spend a few more dollars and get the Corsair 2.1 set.

I currently have the S330D and they are simply amazing for the price. So much detail in the sound.

Are those Corsair ones good? I've seen them around with a high price tag for a 2.1 set but I've heard pretty solid feedback on them. I had hoped for the Promedia 2.1's but I'm not having any luck finding a used set :-(, trying to save a few bucks after all the buying I've had to do for my new place.

I saw a set of the Corsair 2.1 Gaming Audio Series SP2500 for $150.00 but I haven't had a chance to sit down and listen to them anywhere yet so I'm not sure.

i have a set of the sp2200 on my bros computer and they are nice, nothing close to my home stereo setup with psb speaker but they sure do sound alot nicer than most of the lower end stuff i have heard, the sp2500's are supposed to be alot nicer to, i might pick up a set for my pc instead of using my big stuff.

I got these Klipsch this past October. Other than the fact that the bass loses detail at extremely high volumes (ie eardrums start to ache), and I'd prefer a slightly different crossover frequency, I have found them quite adequate for casual music on the computer and for gaming. The highs are excellent and the mids decently detailed. Then again I don't have high expectations for ANY powered computer speaker. For music I use my stereo. I ahve run some games through it and the sound is incredible but that leads me to the urge to move the volume knob towards unreasonable levels :)

The best powered speakers for a computer I've heard are M-Audio monitors but they are 2.0 (and outperform most 2.1's IMHO, including the Klipsch and 330D).

I'd vote for A5 bookshelf speakers.
2.0 only though.
