Default Corsair Vengeance 1300 & 1500 Headsets Review Comment Thread

Headsets that claim to be made for the gaming market may be a dime a dozen but finding one that performs well and does so at a reasonable price, isn't all that easy. Corsair's new analog Vengeance 1300 and USB-based 1500 on the other hand each offer their own unique spin on the affordable headset genre by retailing for under $100 but still seem to provide features that enthusiasts are looking for.

Got my headset. They are impressive. I do notice a difference when in play in fact I feel more into my games. BF3 had very realistic sound.

I will say it was tricky to set up. I was switching from 3.5mm jack to USB for the first time. My onboard sound did not let go and held the default which confused me for a little bit. Nothing in the instructions about set up besides download here…done. I had to go into the control panel and select the 1500 as the default device. After this is set up if you want to switch to actual speakers you need to un-default it. If you unplug the headset’s usb like you would with a 3.5mm thinking it will auto switch you will be wrong. You will get a system hang (I am sure it’s because it goes back to the onboard sound card).

Anyway another thing I notice is the mic switch volume control stays lit when your system is off? I am not sure why. I do not get enough juice out of these ports to charge a thing, but there must be just enough for the light. I guess I just unplug Not a con but I shut everything down when not in use.

Overall nice for the money
