Default Auzen Hometheater hd 7.1 question

do I have to connect the video card to the sound card or could I just hook the video card to the monitior and the sound card to the speakers and so I will have the video card connected directly to the monitior.

Guess it depends if you are using a receiver or not. If you are using a reciever the auzentech is a mute point as the reciever does all the work. If you are running computer speakers off the HTPC plugged into the auzentech then no. You don't need to connect the sound card to the video card.
